Drywall Repair in Yukon, OK

Drywall repair in Yukon starts at $179 for a patch up to 6 inches, textured and primed, with each added patch on the same visit at $59. Re-caulking a tub or shower is $149. Larger patches, ceilings and water-damaged areas are quoted in writing from your photos.

Starting at $149

What Is Included

  • Cutting back loose or crumbled drywall to a clean, solid edge
  • Patching holes and taping cracks, then building the patch flush with joint compound
  • Matching the wall texture, including orange peel and knockdown
  • Priming the patch so paint sits evenly
  • Touch-up paint over the patch when you have the paint on hand
  • Re-caulking tubs, showers, sinks and trim joints
  • Before and after photos in your job report

What Is Not

  • Fixing the leak behind a water stain. Plumbing leaks go to a licensed plumber and roof leaks to a roofer, and the patch comes after.
  • Mold removal or replacing wet framing. If we open a wall and find either, we stop and show you.
  • Painting a whole room, unless it is in your written quote
  • Paint, unless you ask us to pick it up (cost plus 20%)

How we patch a wall so it disappears

A patch fails at its edges, so we start there. Loose paper and crumbled gypsum get cut back until the edges are solid. Small holes get a patch. Bigger ones get a backer and a piece of new drywall. Cracks get taped so they do not open again.

Then the compound goes on in thin coats and gets sanded flat. Texture makes or breaks the job. The common textures are orange peel and knockdown, and we carry texture spray in the drywall kit on the truck. We match the pattern and the size of the spatter to the wall around it, let it set, and prime the whole patch so the paint takes evenly.

If you have the leftover paint, we touch up over the patch before we leave. If you do not, the primed patch is ready for you to paint.

Re-caulking a tub or shower

Old caulk that has turned dark, cracked or pulled away lets water into the joint behind it. Re-caulking a tub or shower is $149. We cut and scrape out all of the old caulk, not just the top layer, clean the joint, and let it dry. Then we run a new, even bead and tool it smooth.

Caulking over old caulk is the shortcut we skip. New caulk does not stick well to it and traps whatever is underneath. If the tile, grout or tub surround is loose or soft behind the old bead, we show you before we seal anything, because caulk will not fix a wall that is already wet.

When a patch is the wrong call

Some walls need more than a patch, and we will say so up front. A water stain means the leak has to be fixed first or the patch will fail. If we open a wall and find mold or wet framing, we stop work and show you what we found instead of covering it up.

Large holes, ceilings and whole walls are quoted from your photos rather than the flat rate. An exact paint match on an older wall is not always possible, and painting the whole wall may be the only way to make a repair vanish. You will hear that before you pay, not after.

The process

How A Drywall Repair Job Goes

  1. Send the damage

Text a close photo of the hole or crack and one from farther back so we can see the texture and the size of the wall.

  2. Price in writing

You get a firm written price before we book. Small patches usually fit the flat rate. Big ones get their own number.

  3. Patch, texture, prime

We cut back to solid drywall, patch, let the compound set, spray or hand the texture to match, then prime.

  4. Photos and a free check

Your report shows the wall before and after, and we do a free 5 minute roof and exterior check on the way out.

Questions

Drywall Repair Questions

How much does drywall repair cost in Yukon?

A patch up to 6 inches, textured and primed, is $179. Each added patch on the same visit is $59, so a few doorknob holes and nail pops cost less together than one at a time. Bigger holes, ceilings and whole walls are quoted from photos.

Will the patch show once it is painted?

A good patch is flat and carries the same texture as the wall, so it should disappear under paint. The paint is the hard part. Older paint fades, and even the same color can look different on a fresh patch. Sometimes the honest answer is to paint the whole wall.

Can you match orange peel or knockdown texture?

Yes. Those are the two common wall textures, and we carry texture spray on the truck. We test the spray pattern on cardboard before it touches your wall, and knockdown gets flattened at the right moment so it blends with what is around it.

My ceiling has a water stain. Can you just patch it?

Not until the water has stopped. A patch over an active leak will stain or sag again. Get the leak fixed first: plumbing goes to a licensed plumber and roof leaks to a roofer. Once it is dry, send us photos and we will quote the ceiling repair.

How long does re-caulking a tub take?

Longer than most people expect, because getting the old caulk fully out and letting the joint dry is most of the work. Laying the new bead is the quick part. Plan to keep water off it for about a day, or whatever the caulk tube says.
